An Lúibín:
Cantar na véarsí sa lúibín agus is é an fonn a bhíonn leis de ghnáth ná port (jig) traidisiúnta. Bíonn portaireacht le focail raiméise (á gcanadh ag an mbeirt le chéile) mar churfá i ndiaidh gach véarsa agus is iondúil go dtugtar an líne dheiridh nó an dá líne dheiridh den véarsa a ghabhann roimis, isteach sa churfá.
Bíonn cheithre líne nó ocht líne de ghnáth sna véarsaí sa lúibín.
Ó véarsa go véarsa bíonn an bheirt ag freagairt a chéile agus ag sárú ar a chéile. Ar ndóigh tá bua na dea-chainte agus cumas maith rannaireachta ana thábhachtach san ealaín seo. __________________________________________
Sung Dialogue:
The Lúibín (meaning "link") could be described as a dialogue sung to a lively traditional tune (usually a jig). In this dialogue one performer may be recounting an incident or offering an opinion on a topic while the other reacts with witty well-crafted quizzical responses. Each verse, usually of four or eight lines, is followed by a chorus sung in unison. This chorus takes the form of the lilting of nonsense words ending with the last line or last two lines of the previous verse.
